Invalid Win32 Application

Question

I have a project that I created in Visual Studio 2010 on a computer running Windows 7. It compiles and runs without problems.

When I put the application on an XP computer with .NET 4, it does not start with the error "is not a valid Win32 application"

I do not know what happened. Any ideas?

Do you use the project "x64" in the project properties, and not "Any processor"? (He seems to be saying that the “machine (x64)” in the bindump header that sounds like this might be a problem)

Is this target.net 4 full or client profile? If everything is in order, check that your XP has a full profile, not just a client profile.

(unlikely to be related, but) Is the Visual Studio 2010 update kit installed on XP?

Make sure that the file was not damaged during the transfer to the Win32 computer (for example, copy it and release it or run it in the Win7 window)
