In general, there are no "exact values" - it will depend on the device. The Sensor class has getMaximumRange() . Since acceleration can be positive or negative, I would suggest that you can safely multiply this value by -1 to get the minimum value.

It measures a physical quantity! I really don’t know if there is any practical limit introduced by the hardware device, but I don’t think you will be so fast ... From its vector magnitude, the sign means the meaning of your movement.
