Are there any plans for a native version of Windows NodeJs?

I am wondering if anyone has any info or suggestion about when or will the native version / port of Windows from Node.js.

Efforts are currently underway to create an intermediate port, Node.js. Version 0.3.6+ can be build this way.

However, it is still experimental and is not ready for a faster and more dirty development. Even if this version matures, I believe that it will always lag behind * nix versions, mainly because the event loop implementations used by Node were originally written for these systems and APIs.

In some cases, the future version of Windows may become stable for development, but it is unlikely to be suitable for production.

July 2011 Update:

#nodejs v0.5.1 is the first to ship with the official Windows executable. We hope to get a good feedback.

Microsoft is officially embraced by the joy of creating Windows-based Node.js.

If one or two Windows C ++ developers did their best, then they can fill in the blanks in their own version of Windows and create a node.js implementation that can be used for production.

At the moment, there is a working version of Cygwin, and I do not know any tests that show that they are unsuitable for production. It works great (version 0.5.0pre) for development.

Take a look: http://www.rafaljonca.org/d/nodejs-windows

What is based on the work of these guys is here http://node-js.prcn.co.cc/

Both are good ways to get node on windows if you don't have cygwin. However, after many pains, I found that developing node things on windows is easiest with virtualbox with an ubuntu image .

I am strictly Windows Dev, and I have long wanted to chat with Node.js.

It looks like Microsoft, Rackspace.com, and the Node.js team are planning on sharing the Node.js port for Windows.

So, he still does not hear, but soon. w00t!
