Whenever I save a pcolor or quiver plot as an EPS or PDF, I get this faint white grid, which seems to be some kind of rendering problem. The first pictures show the problem, the second - how it looks in the figure window. I just use the Save As menu item to save as eps. Any suggestions on how I can get a beautiful vector image? I'm on OS X.
Thanks!
I can confirm this problem on Snow Leopard. Setting up rendering for opengl and using the Save As menu to create an eps file from the quiver screen helped solve the problem.
opengl
eps
set(gcf, 'Renderer', 'opengl')
Just adding another solution: the white lines are not really errors, but rather artifacts from the anti-aliasing settings of your EPS / PDF application. For some reason, Matlab preserves triangles instead of squares, thereby referring to anti-aliasing to straighten diagonal lines.
Artifacts disappear if triangles are replaced by rectangles, as in http://www.mathworks.com/matlabcentral/fileexchange/43271-pcolor-eps-fix
