Does VS have any shortcut like ctrl + q in eclipse?

It returns your carriage (cursor) to the place where you stopped writing code (very useful for quickly viewing code)

Ctrl + - will move to the previously viewed line of code ( Ctrl + Shift + - will move forward). You can download PDF versions of all default keywords in Visual Studio 2010 from on this page .

ReSharper has Ctrl + Shift-Backspace to return to the previous editing position. Or Ctrl + Shift +, (Comma) to view some recent places in the publication.

In addition to what is mentioned in other answers, you can use the undo / redo trick. If you want to go to the last edit position in the current file, a quick rollback / redo will take you there.

You are looking for View.NavigateBackward . Actual keystroke depends on your personal settings, but maybe Ctrl + - . If not, go to Tools/Customize/Commands/Keyboard to find out what exactly is for your setup.
