Connect to a remote system through a connector

Question

I am trying to connect to a remote system that is not in the same local area as mine, via java sockets, can anyone share some sample code or documents for this.

I created a server socket and am listening on the connection through the port. How can I connect to this socket from my client program, which is not located on the same local network as the server.
