Work with the App Store for individual iphone / iPad assemblies

I need to build the same application for iphone and ipad, both are tested on the simulator and devices. The target device family is set to iphone, respectively. "Ipad". I intend to present these assemblies in the App Store as separate applications. I set the application identifier for the iphone application, received the corresponding certificates, created a new application for connecting itunes, etc.

I am not sure how to continue the ipad application:

  • Should I create a second application identifier and the corresponding application in itunes to connect?
  • If yes, I think I need to change the package identifier for the ipad build, how can I do this?
  • Will the iphone application be displayed only if I browse the application store on the iphone, but not when viewing from the ipad (and vice versa)?

I googled and searched here and on the documentation of apples, I think he was buried somewhere, but I could not find the final answers.

Therefore, pointers to apple documents (or duplicate questions) would also be greatly appreciated.

As always, thanks for any answer!

  • Yes
  • Yes you need. You can modify it before building in Info.plist or create another Info.plist and use a different purpose to create different applications.
  • The iPhone application will be shown on the iPad, but the iPad will not be displayed on the iPhone.

So, the main thing here is “several goals, one for each platform” and use the settings of the target parameters, and not the project parameters to configure the provisioning profiles.

  • If you have not created a universal application, then yes, you need to create a second application

  • yes, you need to change the package id for ipad, you can change it in the plist file and keep the same as on your itunes connection, you can just add ipad at the end of ur bundle name, then iphone package.

  • yes iphone app will only be displayed if you are browsing the iphone section and if you are browsing the ipad ipad app show section.
