Problem hosting a WCF service in IIS Express

We are trying to host the WCF service in IIS Express 7.5 (7.5.1046). IIS Express starts correctly, but when we try to connect to our .svc file, we get an exception with the message "Unable to load DLL" nativerd.dll ": the specified module was not found. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x8007007E)."

We searched for this dll and it is present in% WINDIR% \ system32 \ inetsrv \ nativerd.dll. The applicationHost.config file we use is based on the templates that IIS Express installs in the user directory.

The system has Windows 7 as the operating system, and Visual Studio 2010 SP 1 and IIS 7.5 are configured to run WCF applications.

Does anyone have the same problem? Can IIS affect the installation of IIS Express?

After comparing the working installation of IIS Express and the one that was crashing, we noticed that the problem was that the user's home directory did not have the "IISExpress \ config" folder with some configuration files. This folder is only created in the home directory of the user who installed IIS Express. Just by copying the “config” folder to another user's home directory in “My Documents \ IISExpress”, we were able to start the web service without any additional problems.

We hope this helps others who may experience the same problem.

In my case, the WCF project opened normally, and then suddenly this error started (also using IIS).

The problem is resolved after changing the port in the "Properties" project in the Web menu.

Modified by:

http: // localhost: 50206 /

To:

http: // localhost: 50207 /

Just added 1 to the port. I can’t say exactly why this happened, before that I even tried to delete the bin and obj folders, the IISExpress folder in My Documents, and none of these solutions helped me, although it helped others.

I hope this helps someone one day.

I think that when updating IIS express it does not add some entries to your applicationhost.config file. I moved the move folder and started my web project again, after which it was fixed
