Asp.net images give accidentally 401 unauthorized error

Question

I use Asp.net, IIS 6 and cdn for image service. I have a problem uploading images to my site. Images are located under the virtual folder. Every time I click on a browser update, some of the images give 401 unauthorized errors. (images and the number of displayed images that give 401 error differ with each update). I find it difficult to solve this problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

PS: I also use load balancing to distribute traffic between the two servers. On one of the servers there are actual files and a virtual folder for them. On another server there is a virtual folder that shows the path and ip of the server on which there are files. I tried using the website through each server, but they both have the same problem.

Add permission for the following users to this virtual image folder

• IUSR
• IIS_IUSRS

After adding the above permission, check for a 401 error or not?

set the security permission of the image folder of your site to iis_user or to all and give your full rights, and this error will be resolved forever.

Try this on my one site, I have the same problem, and using this method, I solved this error ....

If the problems with the images change with every update, this is probably not a problem with the resolutions - instead, it sounds as if some kind of lock is occurring. Do you have the indexing service turned on or is the AV solution working?

Do you study IIS magazines? This is almost 100% confidently related to the level of access to the virtual folder, and you may need to set up special credentials when opening the target location.

Make sure the mime types for the extensions you use for images are configured in your IIS.
