Png-24 and browser support

Sorry for the very simple question (so don't need a cow and tell me "google it, duh"). Be calm and happy.

Should I use png-8 or png-24 on my website? Most websites still use png-8 or support a browser, what can I use png-24 safely? I have jquery sliders, I don't know if this matters or not. Thanks!

Browser support is good enough for you to use PNG-24. IE6 supports PNG-24.

If you use images for sliders, you probably want transparency and PNG-32 to be supported by all modern browsers. IE6 can display them, albeit without proper transparency (unless you use hacks.)
