Intellij IDEA: Hotkey for "scroll from source"

I cannot find the hotkey for the "Scroll from source" function.

What is the difference between Scroll from Source and Scroll to Source?

The latest version of Intellij IDEA has a default "Select in project view" layout. Just add the key, no plugin needed.

TL; DR; Alt + F1 , then 1

First check your key combination for the "Select to .." item in the navigation menu.

MBP Intellij Menu

Click in the file you are editing, press the shortcut key for "Select To" .. then press 1.

I changed the hotkey for selection in Alt + 1 so that my keyboard shortcut was easy to remember Alt + 1 , 1

There is a plugin for this now.

It is called Scroll From source:

This is now embedded in the @Dimitrov answer

There is no custom shortcut in the Keymap settings, and it does not appear in the Enter Action dialog box, so I'm sure that it is not configured yet, even if I agree, it will be very noticeable.

You can also use the shortcut keys on the navigation bar.

On mac

Press ⌘ + ↑ (command and up button)

Press ← (left arrow)

Hit ⌘ + Enter

This will bring you to the folder in the project view.

It is worth playing with the navigation bar.

Intellij really covered it :)

For ubuntu I did ALT + L (reason ALT + F1 is busy) and then just type.

If you are using JetBrains Rider, then the shortcut is located in the Locate in Solution Explorer :

You can use the navigation bar as a much more much better alternative to scrolling from the original functionality.

Note. Double-clicking on a folder in the navigation panel will scroll to this folder in the "Project" view (i.e. the same functions as scrolling from the source).

You can display the navigation bar in the browse menu, as well as a shortcut for each OS (cmd and up arrow ⌘ + ↑ on OSX, Alt + Home on Linux and Windows)

So it looks like this ...

enter image description here

And it allows you to view the folder structure containing the file in focus in the main editor.

In Ubuntu 18, you can disable the Alt+F1 key combination, the superkey (Windows key) does the same.

At the moment I disable / change this Ubuntu shortcuts

 Alt+F7 --> windows+F7 Ctrl+Alt+L --> windows+L Alt+F1 --> windows

Another best way :
The shortcut is called Select in Projec View
Default shortcut

CTRL + Alt + 1

or you can edit it.

If I understand correctly, you do not want to enable this option in the same way as launching the file browser tool window, and the choice is the current edited file.

Just leave β€œScroll From Source” turned on and open the file browser with Command + 1 on OSX or CTRL + 1 (I think) on Windows. The sidebar of the file browser will be selected and your selection will be highlighted.

This answer also explains the difference between scrolling and scrolling: How do I enable the scroll function from the source?

In JetBrains Rider this action used to be called Locate in Solution Explorer , but now (v2019.2) it is called Locate/Select in Solution View and by default (at least with the built-in ReSharper key map) it is bound to Alt+Shift+L
