Android Market file size limit. 50 MB or 4 GB?

I have a game that I want to publish, but my apk is 105 MB in size. I saw that Google announces that it wants to increase the limit to 4 GB, but I just tried to upload my 105 MB file and I got an error message in which my application was too big. Is the 4 GB limit a rumor or something we'll see soon enough? Thank you Simon

This is not β€œjust a rumor”, as Google announced plans for it at the Google conference i | O 2011. They indicated that the feature will be available in June, although it is possible that their schedule will slip. Also, keep in mind that it is very likely that the 50 MB limit will still be present, but there will be a way to deliver two additional 2 GB files along with the application for storing game assets, etc. With instructions on how developers can use these files.

Support for 4GB applications is now missing. As mentioned above, the APK is still limited to 50 MB, but two additional 2 GB files can be provided.

In addition to the theoretical limit, there is a practical option, which is the size of the / cache partition. For example, on my Galaxy S, this section is limited to 30 MB! See This Question

Support for large market applications announced by Google I / O is not permitted for APK files larger than 50 MB. Instead, the Market will allow you to upload two resource files up to 2 GB in size with your APK.

However, this is not yet available at the time of writing.

Google Play currently requires that your APK be no more than 50 MB. but Google Play allows you to connect two large extension files that complement your APK, read more about this here,
