Which Android devices have a small screen size and high density?

According to Android screen sizes and density statistics , 3.3% of devices have a small screen size and high density (hdpi). What are these devices? I always thought that most small screen devices have a low density (ldpi).

Just by looking at the Motorola developer website, all of their small screen devices have low density . Am I missing a (somewhat) popular device class or is the data incorrect?

Closest I came across the Sony Xperia X10 mini. The 2.5-inch screen has a resolution of 160 dpi (240 x 320), so it is technically a medium-density device with a small screen.

The screen is so physically small that I found that it breaks down the entire Android โ€œdensity independenceโ€ model, and in fact I prefer to use smaller assets than otherwise for a screen with a resolution of 160 dpi, provided that the user knows that it has a tiny screen, and that itโ€™s preferable that it has a tiny screen (as opposed to anything really suitable).

I asked a related question a while ago:

Top list of high PPI mobile screens and CSS detection / processing methods?

At that time and even now it seems that the only devices that announce their high density is iPhone 4.

There are many high-density BlackBerry devices, but they donโ€™t announce it, so it just makes your elements a lot smaller. A little disappointing.

Samsung Galaxy 550 also works with a small layout and an accessible ldpi folder (240x320 ldpi)
