Aahhh! I just noticed that when I pause TED Talk, the URL above changes with this number! So itβs much simpler than what I posted below - just pause the conversation wherever you want and copy the URL!
It looks like when you use certain plugins / extensions for social networks (I use MeetEdgar in Chrome), you can click to share with the bookmark button when you pause the TED video, and this will give a unique time number. There is no clear picture, though, since # t-xxxxx for 10 seconds was 426018, 20 seconds were 8651, 30 seconds 18670, and one above 40 seconds.
I assume that the player creates a random number for this particular point. It is likely that people do not share only bits, but all this.
I just assume that some of the plugins / extensions of Twitter, Facebook or G + can do the same. Give him a chance!
