IOS app name

I have finished the application and am ready to send it to the store. Before choosing a name, I searched in app stores in the USA, Singapore, and Ireland and couldn't find an app with the same or similar name. Therefore, I ordered a logo, splash screen, created a site, made a screencast, registered FB and twitter accounts. Of course, everywhere I used my application name. Imagine how surprised I was, and iTunes Connect told me that this name is accepted! I searched the Internet and found that a few years ago someone released a game with the same name! The game has already left the app store, but the name is still unavailable. I tried to find the developer’s contacts and found her Facebook and Twitter. But it seems that the accounts are no longer in use. I did not find her mail, though ...

Do you have any suggestions on what I can do about this? I think that AppName for iPad instead of AppName will save the situation. But then I will need to change the screensaver, website, FB and twitter, etc.

Thanks!

AppName for iPad is an option, but it's better to add a small suffix that describes what your application does. Many big-name apps ("Elements - Dropbox and Markdown Powered Text Editor", "Convert Unit Calculator", "Faces - Photo Fun!") Do just that.

Thus, your product name will be the same, you can save your existing marketing assets, as well as get the opportunity to sell the benefits of your application to potential customers.
