Windows Phone 7 Mango Update - SkyDrive functionality for developers?

I read a lot about the new SkyDrive sync features (syncing documents, pictures ...) with Mango. But will this functionality be available to developers or is it limited to Microsoft applications?

I think that would be great, but I did not find any information on it.

With the current version of the SDK, SkyDrive functionality is not available for third-party developers. In fact, there is no official SkyDrive public API. There is an unofficial SkyDrive.NET API Client , but since it is not supported by Microsoft, it will be a little risky to use it in an application that is outside the zone “just for fun”.

More recently, the official API was released, but it's nothing more than Javascript libraries. You must create and manage a browser instance.
