Vertices are just the nodes of your graph. When you draw them, you can use them as rectangles or circles or other shapes. Everything that you consider the most beautiful.
Start with an example at ?igraph.vertex.shapes .
g <- graph.ring(10, dir=TRUE, mut=TRUE) plot(g, vertex.shape="rectangle", layout=layout.circle)
vertex.shape values ββfor the vertex.shape argument are given
names(igraph:::.igraph.shapes) [1] "circle" "square" "csquare" "rectangle" "crectangle" [6] "vrectangle" "none"
See ?layout for permitted values ββfor the layout argument.
