Xcode 4.2 cannot debug iOS 4.2.1 (8C148)

I recently upgraded to Xcode 4.2. I also upgraded my new iPad 2 and iPod (latest generation) to iOS 5. I build my application and cannot debug them without problems.

My old iPod running iOS 4.2.1 (8C148) does not start and does not give any errors. The top center panel says โ€œShutting down MyApp on iPod One.โ€ (iPod One is the name of my first iPod touch)

At the bottom of Xcode there is a flicker, as if it almost hit the debugger and was about to show the bottom output panel, but that is not the case. The breakpoint in the main also does not stop it.

I have no errors and nothing happens.

I updated all training profiles, restored the device, chose "use for development", nothing helped.

Since there is no feedback from Xcode, I do not know what to do.

ps The application also works on all simulators.

When I initially select iPod, I see the following sequence of messages in the console for devices, as shown on the Organizer tab:

Thu Oct 20 09:42:49 unknown lockdownd [16]: 2ffea000 handle_connection: Failed to get USB message # 6 from Xcode. I had the same problem, but I solved it. The reason is unsupported architecture (by default Xcode4.2 uses the standard arch = armv7) -> add armv6

In addition to adding the armv6 architecture, I had to remove the armv7 entry from my info.plist "Required devices" application information.
