Recommend a simple editor similar to Coda

I really like that this simple, highly specialized editor also has a very nice interface. Now I am looking for such an editor, available on Windows or Linux. All I found is Komodo Edit, Aptana, DreamWeaver and, of course, Notepad, which for one reason or another do not meet my requirements (Komodo and DreamWeaver, Aptana are bulky and have a lot of excess, Aptana usually cannot search for files, Notepad does not do not have normal autofill and are important - they all look gloomy). Sublime Text 2 is similar, but it is far from the usual html editor. Advise something ... :( I will be very grateful. I am sure that many were asked a similar question and found a rather tolerable solution. By the way, maybe the version was transferred?

How about brackets then? Chrome also has a sleek Live Preview. You won’t need to reload pages to see your changes in CSS, HTML and JavaScript anymore!

For me, Sublime Text 2 is the best code editor for Windows (also with Linux and Mac versions). Read why in Jammy Travel in the Perfect Text-Editor.

  • Several choices for quickly renaming variables.
  • Batch editing with multiple choices.
  • Command palette for quick access to functionality.
  • Goto Anything to quickly move between files.
  • Go to anyone to show a function, line or word in a file.
  • Find and replace with regular expressions.
  • Split editing to edit files side by side or change two locations in one file.
  • Distract mode in full screen for editing without chrome.
  • Project instant switch
  • Cross platform
  • Plugin API

You can try Kompozer (Mozilla project): - http://kompozer.net/

Quote from the Composer's site: -

KompoZer is a complete web development system that combines the management of web files and the convenient editing of WYSIWYG web pages.

Or, if these are only source code editors, see this list of alternatives: - http://alternativeto.net/software/coda/

Personally, I use code :: blocks . It is simple but powerful, and the user interface is simple enough to get around it. It also supports many file types.

Before switching to Coda, I used jEdit. http://www.jedit.org/

jEdit required some tweaking so that I really enjoyed it. There are many plugins that you can easily install inside the application. If I remember correctly, I would add the tabs "File Browser", "Console" and "Buffer". The file browser supports FTP / SFTP, as well as local browsing. The console can be placed anywhere on the screen along with code. I do not believe that I have ever tried an autocomplete plugin for it, but I saw that it exists.

Also works under Windows, Linux and Mac.
