Make an object clickable due to another element in html

take a look at this:
http://www.templatemonster.com/demo/35403.html

In this template, you can click on the image under the forearm of a person, even above the forearm itself.
The hand is not part of the images. These are three div pieces that have a png image as a background.

How is this possible?
How can I do the same (have a div that contains the linked image and have a different div, but the base link can be clicked)?
Is it a cross browser?

thanks

You can simply add pointer-events:none to the stylesheet to the element you are trying to click on

Example here: http://robertnyman.com/css3/pointer-events/pointer-events.html

Check the box to see how you can click the gray window.

he did with

 pointer-events:none;

it does not work in IE and Opera, but in this case it is not a problem. It just doesn't work on the hand itself.

In modern browsers, you can use the css3 property of the event pointer. Here is a well-known question about this: Click DIV on the basic elements
