Changing the application name in Xcode / Cocoa

What is the most efficient way to change the name of a Mac OS X application in Xcode?

(I know this is easy, I have done this in the past, but I cannot remember how ...: /)

What I mean:

  • Let's say I have a Project / Application named oldName .
  • How do I change this to newName so that this new name appears wherever it should be? (Application name, package identifier, dialog "About dialog", "Dock", etc.).

Click on your project in the upper left, where all the files associated with the specified project are listed. Press the back button on the keyboard and simply rename it.

Change the display name of the package in the -info.plist file.

It will update the title of the application written under the application icon. I think this is what you need.

sincerely, I will go with grep on the terminal, changing all entries manually.

cd yourprojectdirectory

grep -r oldName .
