IBM SDK 7 for computers without IBM Windows?

The IBM SDK Java Technology Edition version 7 is available for their AIX platform and Linux platform. Are NON-IBM computers with 32-64-bit versions of Windows supported by the IBM SDK 7? I heard that the 32-bit runtime for windows is only available for IBM Systems as a separate download, a BIOS check verifies that it is an IBM system.

It's right.

An unofficial way to get IBM JDK 7 is to download and install WebSphere 8 for the Windows platform (trial) and the latest fix pack , as it may also contain JDK updates.

As a result, you will find IBM JDK 7 in the AppServer/java7 , which you can archive and copy to any other Windows system, regardless of its underlying hardware. No registration key is required, you just need to add bin to your PATH and ultimately set the JAVA_HOME environment variable.

Of course, this operation works, and it is mainly used for developer workstations, but you need to contact IBM if you want to get support on how to work efficiently with JDK 7 on Windows.

A smaller and simpler download, albeit for 64-bit Java (windows and linux), is available here: https://developer.ibm.com/assets/wasdev/#asset/runtimes-webprofile7-ibm-java This is a zip file (about 200 MB) and does not require a login to download. It is packed with Liberty Java EE runtime - this package has features for the full Java EE 7 specification.

DISCLAIMER: I know this question is old, but it is one of the best Google search results where "download 32-bit IBM JRE for Windows". Therefore, I submit my answer if it can help others.

PREREQUISITES: IBMid login for use in the IBM site support section.

If you have an IBM support account, you can download Fixpak 9 for IBM 8.5.5.9: WebSphere Application Server V8.5.5. Before downloading, make sure you read the IBM terms and conditions. IANAL.

This package is dated February 25, 2016.

It is available at this URL: http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg24041819#SDK80

Scroll down to "IBM WebSphere SDK Java Technology Edition V8.0 for Full Profile and Freedom"

and you will find Windows: 8.0.2.10-WS-IBMWASJAVA-Win.zip By clicking on this link you will see the IBMid page to identify yourself, and then you can download this "300-MB hairball" (Scott McNeally dixit). 8.0.2.10-WS-IBMWASJAVA-Win.zip file.

When you unpack this 8.0.2.10-WS-IBMWASJAVA-Win.zip hairball, you will find a 32-bit JRE in the form of a file called com.ibm.websphere.jdk8.32bit.jre_003_windows.x8632_x_8.0.2010.201602250020.zip it is embedded in \ native subfolder of the ZIP archive.

Hope this helps
