Busy ... Apache started [Port 80]

I am using XAMPP 1.7.7 after starting Apache. I get this warning:

Busy ...
Apache is running [Port 80]

And I opened the httpd.conf file and I changed the port number to 8080 or 85 . But I still have a warning after reset XAMPP and starting apache.

What should I do?

This is because teamviewer or skype use this port through defalut on your system. So port 80 is busy, or you can try changing the port number skype / teamvier

Or go to the next solution

Go β†’ C: \ xampp \ apache \ conf

open file - httpd.conf

Make changes below

Listen to 8080

Localhost server_name: 8080

C: \ XAMPP \ Apache \ conf \ optional

Open-> HTTPD-ssl.conf

Make changes below

Listen 4499

Localhost server_name: 4499

Restart apache now :)

http: // localhost: 8080

I checked the source code of the XAMPP control panel. In fact, this is not 100% hard-coded. It searches for a dynamic value, if not found, it says port 80. Well, the dynamic value DOES NOT come from your httpd.conf file

To change the port in the Apache started [Port 80] message Apache started [Port 80] , do the following:

  • Find the location of xampp-control.exe. It should be at the root of the installation directory.

  • Create the "XAMPP.INI" file in this directory (so that XAMPP.ini and xampp-control.exe are in the same directory)

  • Place the following in the XAMPP.INI file:

[PORT]
apache = 8080

Now you always get Apache started [Port 8080] . Use any port that you want to display in the XAMPP.ini file. Please note that this is for display purposes only. It is not related to your httpd.conf

XAMPP 1.7.4 and XAMPP 1.7.7 display incorrect port information in the XAMPP control panel.

No matter which port you specify to listen on Apache, the XAMPP control panel will always display:

Apache is running [Port 80]

It is not right!!!! This is the HARDCODED line in XAMPP 1.7.4 and 1.7.7. It does not reflect the actual port that Apache is listening on.

I found that Skype took port 80 after I installed it and interfered with my web server. Skype has a setting that you can change, so that it uses a different default port and leaves 80 open to the web server.

Xamp control panel is listening. In most cases, httpd.exe is already running, but the green indicator does not appear .. try opening a browser and opening a site ...

But then check your xampp configuration,

I had the same problem. How did I resolve it? Port 80 seems to be used by other programs. In my case, XAMPP stopped working when I installed Microsoft WebMatrix. Apache has stopped working. When I uninstalled WebMatrix with all its components, Apache started working fine. Hope this helps anyone who has the same problem.

I also had the same problem. Port 80 seems to be used by other programs. In my case, too, XAMPP stopped working when I installed Microsoft WebMatrix. Apache has stopped working. I had the same problem. This was fully authorized by following these two instructions:

  • Run RegEdit:
  • Go to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SYSTEM \ CurrentControlSet \ Services \ HTTP
  • Add New DWORD Value (32-bit)
  • Call it 'NoRun, not including quotation marks.
  • Double-click the new property.
  • In the Value Value field, enter 1 ', not including quotation marks, and click OK
  • Reboot the computer.

The above works are for some people, but not for me, in addition, I also had to follow this:

  • Go to regedit.exe, go to:
  • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE> SYSTEM> CurrentControlSet> Services> HTTP and change reg_dword with the name "Start", its value is zero ("0" without quotes), click "OK".
  • Then restart.
  • ** IMPORTANT. To open your server as fast as your computer starts up, port 80 will be taken by apache ...

I found this solution on this site, which explains further: http://www.cameroncooke.com/2009/01/25/windows-7-uses-port-80-and-makes-it-impossible-to-install- apache-solution / comment-page-3 / # comment-1099

Decided this for me. I upgraded XAMPP to PHP 5.4, and then I could no longer run Apache. He said that he starts Apache (Busy). The problem was for me the Pando Media Booster (by the way, this is connected with the League of Legends :)), which blocked port 443. So after removing it, it worked again. Hope this helps.

http://www.devside.net/wamp-server/opening-up-port-80-for-apache-to-use-on-windows

Windows 8 Skype cannot be changed using port 80; so these are a few options ... Race for what happened first ... Delete what uses port 80 .... The best answer: free your server and its resources, install only the minimum necessary software or applications, use the second computer to edit your server and perform other actions, such as Skype, if you need real performance.

These problems or the launch of rounds should only occur on virtual machine settings that can be avoided, except in cases of performance loss that are never 100% restored, and often the image is licensed for only 3 months.

Windows 10 has many desktops .... it is probably best to let some users install their own applications, such as Skype, and not have their own options / set effects to other users or vice versa depending on who makes the choice or is primary user (s). In a multi-user headache system, there may be someone who is not enough, who may simply not be able to continue to accept new requests, so many programs want this port.

Search for the control panel Select uninstall programs Select "Enable or disable Windows features" located on the left side of the panel In the "Internet Information Services" section, clear the "World Wide Web Services" checkbox, which Microsoft should enable by default (accepts the port) Reboot and WAMP are back, as before.

Follow this procedure : How to change the XAMPP apache server port?

It explains how to fix the Apache port problem in 4 steps:

  • Choose a free port number
  • Edit the file "http.conf"
  • Edit the file "http-ssl.conf"
  • Configuring XAMPP Apache Server Settings

If you have a problem after trying this process : this means that the application uses all available ports or changes dynamically.

For example, the Skype port is dynamic; it can change the port if it is already busy.

A simple solution is to quit Skype and then start Apache and then start Skype again. This is a one-time operation and solves the problem.
