Clickonce.net Update

Microsoft.Net 4.5 is coming up and I want to update my clickonce application when MS releases the final version.

My question is: will users who have already installed the click-through application with .net 4.0 need to update the .net framework or will it automatically?

Your ClickOnce application must have .NET as prerequsite, and before installing the application, you can install .NET.

If the user has installed .NET 4 and your application is targeting .NET 4.5, they need to install .NET 4.5.

.NET 4 will not automatically upgrade to .NET 4.5. At some point, Microsoft will begin to supplant .NET 4.5 in Windows Updates, but it's too early to predict the timing.
