Position: relative, overflow: hidden parent and absolute child

Ok, here is an example: http://jsfiddle.net/jGLvk/405/

If you hover over menu 9012, you will have a shortened reduced submenu that will be absolute. Delete position: absolute or overflow: hidden from any of his parents: you will have a normal working drop-down menu.

"Overflow-y: visible" will simply create a scroll bar and not show a menu.

Please help me! I need a regular dropdown menu of superfishes for such cunning ancestors.

Thanks!

Here, take a look. I'm not sure what overflow:hidden , but will it apply to a div ul , not a div ? If so, do this and set position: relative to the div. Take a look → http://jsfiddle.net/jGLvk/407/

Since absolutely positioned elements become relative to the div , it ignores the overflow:hidden; on ul .
