Mac application auto update

Question

I am working on a desktop application in Qt that will run on Windows and Mac,

I need to add functions to the application to check for updates and apply them to the software. I already did this with one window (when loading Windows, the dlls / exe update files delete existing ones and put new ones there)

I am not very good at deploying / installing on a Mac on Windows. I am just updating the files in the installation directory.

To do the same in mac, do I need to consider a special deployment strategy for automatically updating software? For example, do I need to make an installer for mac or will I link it? in fact, I want to be able to automatically update software depending on which strategy allows me to do this.

It may be important that the application is not in the mac store and that users download it from the website.

Without the App Store, the next most common solution I've seen is the Sparkle framework:
