What is better wget or scp for copying files from one server to another?

Use scp . wget is only useful for downloading files using HTTP or FTP.

I would prefer wget, as it is much faster than scp. I always experienced wget 5 times faster than scp.

Say I have a gigabyte network. If I try to copy a large file using scp, the maximum speed can be 10 MB / s, and with wget it can be up to 50 MB / s.

The wget problem can only be used via http. But it is easy if you try with SimpleHTTPServer with python.
