Remove .apk from Google Play or the developer console

So, I made this test application and uploaded it to the developer's console, but since this was my first application, its package is called com.myfirstapp.program. now later I made a much better version of the same program, and this time it is under the correct package name, however Google Play will not allow me to download my new program because the package name is different. And I really don't want to use com.myfirstapp.program. Can i do something? I tried to search if I can completely remove my apk, but found out that this is not possible, so I was kind of stuck here.
