How to make a page irreversible?

I have a page I'm working on that includes a vertical drop-down menu. However, when the menu drops, it pushes the text below it down and away from the page. This is expected, but it allows you to use the scroll bar on the side of the page. I was wondering if there is a way to get rid of this. In other words, it should not just scroll, but not even offer the ability to scroll.

If you don't want a single scrollbar to appear or scroll at all, in CSS for the div in which you specify the specified drop-down menu, use

overflow: hidden; 

This will disable any additional content; see example here

Use overflow: hidden; for the item on which you want to hide the scroll bar.
