Is the utrace project dead?

I tried to use stap to track the executable in user space, as this answer recommended: https://stackoverflow.com/a/316629/

To do this, the utrace patch must be fixed in the kernel, but I can not find the utrace patch for the latest kernels.

The mailing list is closed and many links on the official website are broken.

Does anyone know where this project is going? He is dead? Does this mean that we can no longer use stap to track executable files in the latest kernels?

The way upstream was fraught with many difficulties. However, parts of it live as described in this excellent LWN article.

You will probably find it easier to access this feature with the perf toolkit. After adding test events, you can use the usual functionality of the tool to split the results. See the commit post and great docs for more details.

Utrace is really dead and is no longer under development; it was unable to get to the kernel. See "Uprobes", instead it is available with 3.5+.
