Can I reduce ghci memory usage?

Question

I installed GHC-7.4 in an old freebsd box with 512M RAM. Everything works great! But GHCI takes up too much RAM after startup.

Any suggestion appreciated!

As an alternative, use a compiler, not an interpreter.

You can use ghci +RTS -M100M -c30 if you want to limit the heap size to 100 MB and use compaction when heap usage increases to 30%.
