How to add assembly to web.config file from mvc 4

I have a "MVC 4" project and I want to add the assembly to the web.config file, but I don’t know where to put it. I try by any means, but I can not find a solution.

every time i get this error:

You must add a reference to the assembly 'System.Data.Entity, Version = 4.0.0.0, Culture = Neutral, PublicKeyToken = b77a5c561934e089'.

this is my web.config file:

It is pretty simple. See your compilation section in the web.config file:

 <compilation debug="true" targetFramework="4.0"/>

Now open the section and install your assembly as follows:

 <compilation debug="true" targetFramework="4.0"> <assemblies> <add assembly="System.Data.Entity, Version=4.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089" /> </assemblies> </compilation>

The libraries in this section are checked at compile time, this has nothing to do with the runtime binding.

I just experienced the same problem with MVC 4 in VS Express 2012 for the Internet, but although Alfonso's answer was much more useful than anything else I found on the Internet, he unfortunately did not clarify the error in my project. After doing some research on the Internet (to no avail) and then just shaking Visual Studio, I found the following solution.

In addition to adding an EntityFramework to my projects and adding a tag to my Web.config, I also had to follow these steps to satisfy the compiler:

  • Right-click the Links folder> Add Link ...
  • Expand the nodes on the left side of the window and select Frames.
  • Scroll through the list and select System.Data.Entity in the assembly list.
  • Make sure the box next to System.Data.Entity is checked, then click OK.
  • Restore the project.
