Red Frames in Xcode

I uploaded a project developed by Apple employees (who taught a Stanford iPhone app development course). Oddly enough, the frames are red.

I tried to find coreGraphics.framework and UIKit.framework to add them again, but I also could not find them.

Red text indicates that the actual files are not in the path that the project has for it.

Get information about the structure and look under the General tab. The first section shows the name and path of the framework package itself. The most common cause of a problem with the systems supplied by the system is that the type of path has been changed to something that violates the path. Default value: Relative to Current SDK . Change the path until you get the one that will lead to the actual structure.

If you have developer tools installed in a custom location, you are more likely to run into this problem. If you copy a project from someone with non-standard settings, you may also encounter it.

Are you building a simulator or device?

Try creating for the device.

Found a way to fix this automatically:

  • Right-click the main Xcode project file (blue at the top alt text ),
  • Get information,
  • General tab
  • At the bottom, set the "Base SDK for all configurations" to the desired one.

Done!

@ Taymur Hamza - His occurrence (red) for any reason,

  • Some required files may be skipped in a loaded project

  • Before launching the application for the first time.

So, first you have to find the reason above and try to solve it by copying the framework from another running project and pasting it into your project.

I have encountered this problem before. I went over it by copying the missing (in red) structure from my friend Mac, then copy it to the Framework folder.

This is the path to my frame folder:

 /Applications/Xcode.app/Contents/Developer/Platforms/iPhoneOS.platform/Developer/SDKs/iPhoneOS6.1.sdk/System/Library/Frameworks

You may need to change the path depending on your system or your sdk version.

Most likely, you decided to delete some of the frameworks that you do not need, and you deleted them, but chose "Move to Trash" instead of "Delete Link".

The problem is that this structure was not included in your project folder. It is located in the system folder when it can be used by several projects. Thus, you not only could not compile the current project, but also all the projects on your computer.

If you have any frames, you can right-click them and select the "Show in Finder" check box. Than you can find your deleted frameworks in the recycle bin (if they have not been erased yet) and put them back in the System Framework folder.

If you cannot find this folder, for me it was here: /Applications/Xcode.app/Contents/Developer/Platforms/iPhoneOS.platform/Developer/SDKs/iPhoneOS7.0.sdk/System/Library

Of course, when you go to the Applications folder and select Xcode, you must right-click it and click Show Package Contents.

If you removed your frameworks even from the trash, I think you could reinstall Xcode ...
