JSON database in which I can set and get objects

Hey, I'm doing a small project, and I would like to use a JSON style database service where I can install and get parts of a JS object. I would like it to be completely in the interface and not require any server technologies. Assistant professor must be safe, as this is just a hobby project. Security is a bonus.

I am currently using local HTML5 storage.

I am glad to pay for this service.

https://www.firebase.com/ does not have a free plan.

The direction seems to pick NoSQL db like MongoDB or CouchDB, then search / compare for db as service providers.

A quick search gives you 10 online storage APIs. These are file APIs.

  • Adobe Share: Adobe’s recently released online document sharing service using the REST-based API that integrates with Flash, AIR, and non-Adobe applications.
  • Amazon S3, a simple storage service: probably the best-known storage API and a key element of Amazons pay-as-you-go infrastructure services.

  • Box.net: The Box Enabled platform offers a choice of SOAP, REST, or XML-POST APIs. Below is Fireloader, a Firefox extension that allows you to upload and download photos, files, and videos using the familiar FTP interface. This version supports Flickr, Picasa, Box.net and Youtube.

  • Cellblock: This multimedia sharing service offers a REST-based API.

  • MoveDigital: file delivery and file management services focused on large files.
  • Nirvanix: A new member in this space focused on scalable secure storage through the Storage Delivery Service (SDS). See Their feature comparison with S3.
  • Omnidrive: A well-rated REST-based API that has been used for many interesting commercial integrations, including direct access with Zoho.
  • Open XDrive: AOL offers this repository serviced using the JSON-RPC protocol.
  • Openomy: The experimental online storage service began in 2005 (although a quick check of this service over the past week indicated it leaves a question about its current operational status).

You can also visit www.ttmsolutions.com/restjee. Its a lightweight server-side JSON ORM on the server side, which does not require server-side code development and works with any database.

amidb provides a hosted json service supported by elasticsearch and cassandra. Give it a try. It can host files and json. you pay only at the start of production.
