Can I tell mod_deflate & PHP to skip compression in only one directory?

To compress my entire webpage, I use this .htaccess code. It uses the Apache deflate module if possible, otherwise apply ob_gzhandler PHP compression.

Everything works fine, but for some reason I don’t want to apply compression to the ./folderWithoutCompression folder.

Question: How can I add this exception if the Apache deflate module is defined or not (PHP ob_gzhandler case) in the following script?

As a workaround, I use a custom content-type for all the files in the folderWithoutCompression folder.

I am sure that you can exclude some directory using <Location> , , or but when i try to handle i always had apache 500 error

You can write

 SetEnvIf Request_URI ^/path/to/folder/ no-gzip=1

or you can put another .htaccess file in this folder by disabling deflation with something like:

 SetOutputFilter NONE
