Orientation to various characteristics in the application for Android applications

We are working on an iPhone port for Android. One of the additional hurdles with this is all the different device resolutions that Android has. We have an art team that recycles art for each target resolution (we only collect a few now with a later one.)

My question is: can we (and how best to do this) present separate packages for each resolution on the Google Market under one heading so that when someone buys them, they get specific permission?

UPDATE 7/21/2011

Although we released without it, it was announced that the Google Android Market officially supports multiple APKs for a single application.

You do not need to do extensive work to support all possible screen sizes, you only need to create resources for several configurations, and Android will do the rest. The main idea here is that you need to support multiple screen densities. When you create a resource for each density, Android automatically uses the corresponding resource for a specific device. You download only one application for all devices.

You should read an article supporting multiple screens , as well as providing resources .

I did not see such an option when uploading my own applications to the market. This is a good / official explanation of how to program different screen resolutions.

If you cannot pack all of your permission-related resources into the application, you can upload images from the servers after the first application launch. At this point, you can get the screen resolution data and download only what you need.
