Maximize window in MacVim at startup

How to configure MacVim to run with a window that increases the full height (minus the menu bar) and the width of my monitor (not full view)?

If this is not possible at startup, how can I change it manually (not by dragging a window, but using a command)?

You can set the parameters lines and columns . Just use the "very large" values, and Vim truncates them to the maximum possible values for your screen and font size. If you put this in your ~/.gvimrc , then your initial window will be automatically appropriately.

 set lines=999 columns=9999

See :help 'lines' and :help 'columns' details.

MacVim also has fullscreen and fuoptions (along with the "Prefer built-in full-screen support" checkbox in the "Advanced" section of MacVim > Preferences ... ), which may be useful.
