Search the cygwin Mintty window buffer

How to perform text search in cygwin window buffer? Is there a way to make the same textual support as in the console buffer of Windows (right click> search)?

(I use mintty)

In mintty, you can do this using the Alt + F3 sequence.

See the mintty manual page for more information.

Text search and scroll buffer

Alt-F3 opens a search bar with an input field for the search bar. Matches are highlighted in the scroll buffer. Enter / Shift + Enter find next / previous match position and scroll the scroll buffer accordingly. The appearance of the search bar and the corresponding highlight colors can be customized.

Beware that this sequence is very close to the infamous window sequence that closes the window. (which uses F4)

In addition, you can enable the Ctrl + Shift + H shortcut by going to the mintty options panel and turning on the Ctrl + Shift + letters shortcuts in the " Key " section of the options.

You access the options panel by right-clicking the mintty icon of the mint window (upper left corner)

There is currently no such feature. The closest alternative is โ€œSelect Allโ€ (followed by โ€œCopyโ€ if you turned off copying when selected), paste it into a text editor and search there.

You have several options.

(Mintty) I would drop the rsync command (wrong direction), so I wanted to keep track of which files were changed. Therefore, I manually selected the output of the Mintty screen from the bottom with the mouse, holding the left mouse button, and then click on the top of the screen, and then tediously waited for the screen to scroll forever back, and then, when I came back, as I needed, I did a Control-Insert for copying. Then I pasted into a text file, which then could search, edit, grep, vim for my content. I donโ€™t know if this is the only way, but it works!

I used the emacs editor as a buffer. From emacs open shell: Cx shell, then I can search the buffer as the current window.
