HDMI port detection on Android device

I am working on an Android application that should detect an HDMI port. Can someone explain to me how I can programmatically detect the HDMI port in the andorid device.

You can try to listen to the broadcast of hidden intentions of Android.

"android.intent.action.HDMI_PLUGGED"

if you use Android 4.0 or higher or use a Sony device:

 "com.sonyericsson.intent.action.HDMI_EVENT"
