Crystal report.rpt file in visual studio 2012 shows binary format instead of design

We developed the application in visual studio 2010, and the reports work fine, when we decided to open the same application through visual studio 2012 Ultimate, the reports do not work, and when I open the .rpt file showing the announcement in binary format, I also could not find Crystalreport.rpt in the reporting template in visual studio 2012. After searching on Google, I installed CRforVS_redist_install_32bit_13_0_5 but it doesn’t work.

How can I change or edit the design of the .rpt file with visual studio 2012 and also want to change the name of the .rpt database. Any suggestion or idea to achieve this?

I had the same problem after installing visual studio 2012 and there was no answer on the forum. I deleted CR yesterday and downloaded CRForVS 13.0.5 from here again, just in case there was an error in the previous version, which I downloaded to may and installed it. Then I installed update 3 for Visual Studio, and now everything works fine. cheers michael

I think this is for me.

From the SAP Crystal Reports download site:

Please note: for the integration of "SAP Crystal Reports, developer version for Microsoft> Visual Studio" you must run Install Executable. Will MSI launch? > Fully integrate Crystal Reports in VS. MSI files, by definition, are for runtime> distribution only. By default, Windows 10 does not install the 3.5 framework; CR for VS still needs it. Select it "Enable or disable the Windows feature" and select both options.

I downloaded exe instead of MSI packages and it worked for me finally. Helps to read, I think.
