Has anyone tried reverse debugging in gdb?

Has anyone tried to use the new recording / playback and reverse debugging features in the recently released gdb-7.0? I am one of the developers / maintainers of gdb and I really want to get user reviews.

Hi, I tried this for a while. This makes life a lot easier for cases where either I screwed something during the debugging process, or for run-many-times-find-me errors

Well, now there is a tutorial to help you get started: http://www.sourceware.org/gdb/wiki/ProcessRecord/Tutorial

It definitely deserves more attention - the ROCK FREAKING HARD debugging feature. No sweat. Great job!

For practical use in the real world (and problems with reverse debugging) see

In GDB, how do I know who the malloc'ed address is on the heap?

(Problem: it doesn't seem to support IO ( printf() , etc.), which makes it practically useless.
