You can access the website using http: // localhost, but not through the IP address

This is the first time I've ever created a server (OS-Server 2008 R2), and I just need to get a site running on the local network. I can browse the site on the server using localhost, but I would like the site to be accessible via IP. for example, http: // [Ip Address] /

What steps should I take to complete this. If I need to add new roles or any modules, please let me know.

You will need to go to the binding section of the new website (IIS Manager-> RightClick site-> Bindings) and select one of the IP addresses on the server. By default, IIS will receive one available IP address, so if you want it on one specific IP address, you will need to do this.

As long as this IP address can be scanned from the local network and port 80 is open on the network (which should be so), you do not need to do anything.

In order for your web server to respond to requests from all ips configured on your computer, you need to make sure that your web server is listening on 0.0.0.0:[port].

0.0.0.0 ensures that the web server will be accessible from all ips associated with your device.
