Monochrome imagemagick to iPhone converter

I have an image on an iPhone that I need to convert to monochrome. Images are photographs of documents, and I need the cleanest conversion I can get.

My first solution showed that a pixel for a pixel compares with a threshold, and although it performs the conversion perfectly, shadows can suppress the image.

My next research is to use imagemagick , hoping that there are various noise reduction / stain removal filters that I can apply to clean the image what this guy is doing .

I have imagemagick running on the iPhone and can use " MagickWand " without any problems. My problem is that I don’t think there is one built-in that will do what I want. So I go to ConvertImageCommand , but I lost it, how to actually use it.

So I'm looking for any guides or examples. Thanks!

It turns out that I was looking for Adaptive Thresholding in my conversion to monochrome.

Chris Greening has created an image processing library that does a good job of this.

Therefore, no need to imagine.
