How to use arrow keys in mzscheme / guile REPL?

Question

When I type REPL of guile or mzscheme

(define x 15)

and then press the arrow key I get (specify x 15) ^ [[D

Is this a terminal issue? or something needs to be configured? It pains me to rewrite a string for easy editing

I found the answer for Guile, adding that this in ~/.guile would shorten it:

 (use-modules (ice-9 readline)) (activate-readline)
