Remove IE 10 Clear Button from input field

On all my entrances on my site, the IE 10 Clear button gets in the way when I try to enter the Kendo Numeric text box on the tab.

I looked it over here and every question says that this is what I should do in my CSS:

::-ms-clear { display: none; } 

However, the “Clear” button is still present in IE 10 after that. I tried adding !important to display: none; and it is still displayed.

I noticed that in my CSS, which is uploaded to the site, that ::-ms-clear , which I put in the CSS file, does not appear at all, and I know that it is (I put it at the end of the file).

Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong? There seems to be no help if this method does not work ...

EDIT: Sorry, I should have mentioned this before. I use Wordpress, so I have no idea where the code for X-UA-Compatible will go to make this work.

You must select a different browser / document mode than IE10 / Standard in the F12 tools
