Disable Intellij automatic copy to clipboard

I like to use Intellij. It has a lot of great features, but I also don’t like the fact that it automatically copies the selection to the clipboard during some actions (selection with some mouse events, with deletion, some keyboard shortcuts that I suppose other than “copy”, etc. .d., I don’t know exactly which, but that’s for sure). Is there any way to disable this?

Of course, I can use the “paste from history”, but it’s a pain: I know that I copied good text using a keyboard shortcut, why did another move overload my clipboard? I have to right click and check etc ... it is too slow.

I would like the only movements that can copy contents to the clipboard to be just “right-click” and “short copy keys.”

I have a problem with the 64-bit version of Windows 7, Intellij 12, but I had it on Intellij 11.

For example: shift + del (delete line) autocopy contents to clipboard.

Ctrl + Y will delete the line without copying to the clipboard. I can’t think of other operations with this side effect. That is, Ctrl + Backspace or Ctrl + Delete , which delete a word to the left or right of the cursor, do not have it.

Update: there is also Ctrl + Shift + V , which will display a clipboard history popup if one of them overwrites the contents of the clipboard.

Shift-Delete is a shortcut for cutting.
To disable:

  • Go to Settings → Key → search to shorten
  • right-click on the found “cut” action, select “delete shift-delete
  • search delete string
  • right-click on the found action "Delete row", add a keyboard shortcut, press Shif-delete, click ok
This may alert you to a potential conflict with the maven exclude extension action.

Hope this helps
