The application icon does not appear on the iPhone 5 during testing

I have a 120x120 image image that works great on emulators - however, when I try to use it on my device, the icon does not appear. Any thoughts?

I get it. It was really very unpleasant. Therefore, the user interface designer simply renamed his .psd files with .png and xcode, he thought that everything was in order. However, renaming .png will not automatically make them real .pngs. The way I solved it was to preview the Mac and export the files to PNG format.

Sometimes some of the images get OS caching.

  • Uninstall the application completely from your mobile device (press and hold and then uninstall the application)
  • Turn off the device and turn it on again. (This ensures that the cache is cleared)
  • In xCode, clear the project and rebuild.
  • Download the software again to your device.

You should be able to see your icon as long as it is correctly added to your project.

Drag the application to another application to group it into a folder. Then drag the application from the folder.

Check the info.plist file. Make sure the icon entry looks something like this (use, of course, your own image file names):

enter image description here

If you see another line β€œIcon already includes glossy effects”, delete it.

It is not uncommon to see the application icon on the device. However, when your application loads on the App Store, everything will be fine.

Is your iOS device iOS7? If not, you will also need to add 57x57 and 114x114 icons. See https://stackoverflow.com/a/3188261/superfilms/index.html It is always useful to include all the sizes of the icons that you may need in the iOS bundle.
