Bcrypt is not installed using npm (Mac OS X 10.9 - Node v0.10.22)

System Specifications: Mac OS X 10.9 Node v0.10.22

When trying to install bcrypt, the following error appears. Any tips to fix this problem?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I suggest trying bcrypt.js , which is written in native javascript. Apparently there shouldn't be any layout issues.

I know this answer is rather late. But for those who have this problem, you need to make sure that you are using the correct version of bcrypt. See the table below (which can also be found on the NPM page). Node version on the left and version with bcrypt extension on the right.

 0.4.x <= 0.4.x 0.6.x >= 0.5.x 0.8.x >= 0.5.x 0.10.x >= 0.5.x 0.11.x >= 0.8.x

An Xcode update on my Mac Mavericks 1.9 resolved this for me.
