Src / lxml / etree_defs.h: 9: 31: fatal error: libxml / xmlversion.h: no such file or directory

  • I run the following command to install packages in this file " pip install -r requirements.txt --download-cache=~/tmp/pip-cache ".

  • require.txt contains pacakages such as

when installing the "lxml" packages I get the following eror

Can someone check and tell me what will be the problem and why? Any package is missing for installation.

Install libxslt-devel and libxml2-devel with

 sudo apt-get install libxml2-dev libxslt1-dev

After installation, follow the above

  • Install Cython with

    easy_install Cython

  • After cython shuts down, install libxslt-devel and libxml2-devel using

    yum install libxslt-devel libxml2-devel

It worked for me.

The selected answer is right, but I just wanted to add for those using Fedora: libxslt1 called libxslt when using dnf. So the command:

 sudo dnf install libxml2-devel libxslt-devel

devel for dnf is the same as dev for apt-get.

without sudo rights, you can install lxml with:

 STATIC_DEPS=true pip install lxml

As mentioned in lxml documentation

The certified answer works fine. But just adding the install command for alpine to install libxslt-devel and libxml2-devel

 apk add --update libxml2-dev libxslt-dev
