From Sublime Text to Webstorm

I am starting to use webstorm JetBRAINS. I have some shortcuts that I often use in Sublime text. I would like to know what is equivalent in webstorm.

  • in Sublime I could select a line of code with Ctrl+L If you press Ctrl+L again, it will highlight an extra line. This was convenient for quickly selecting whole methods, etc.

  • In an elevated form, you can have several pockets that allow you to create massive quantities of code. Webstorm has something like this (inline or plugin).

EDIT: Now in webstorm 8 you can do it centered. By clicking on the mouse and dragging the code. Well maintained.

  • In an elevated state, you can cancel the selected parts of the code: Edit > Line > Re-indent .

I think that's all for now.

Sorry for the n00b questions. I just want to quickly and efficiently return to coding with my new toy.

1) Ctrl + W ( Edit | Select Word at Caret ) several times in a row.

2) Available in PhpStorm v8 / WebStorm v8 / IntelliJ IDEA v13.1 (not sure about PyCharm and RubyMine versions - should be built 136.1153 or later)

More details on the blog here .

3) Code | Auto-Indent Lines Code | Auto-Indent Lines I guess (sorry, I don’t know what the original in ST does for sure - I never used ST myself).

a) Help | Default Keymap Reference Help | Default Keymap Reference for a quick overview.

b) Help | Find Action... Help | Find Action... ( Ctrl + Shift + A ) - a very convenient tool for new (and not only) users / does wonders.

On a Mac (I'm on OS X Mountain Lion, Webstorm 8), you could

1) press Alt + Up Arrow. In this case, the next larger block of text is repeatedly selected, up to the function and, ultimately, the entire file.

2) do what the person said above

3) select the text and select Code-> Reformat Code (or press Cmd + Alt + L)

NTN.
